Gender Statistics aim to identify and produce empirical information that reflects the realities of the lives of women and men. They serve as a guide policy makers in the design of effective strategies to improve gender equality. This page features links to various databases covering gender statistics, indicators and measurement tools.

Empirical information on gender equality around the world can  be found in  our country profiles.

The page will be updated with links to our partners’ databases available online.

The Gender, Institutions and Development Database

The GID-DB is a database providing researchers and policymakers with key data on gender-based discrimination in social institutions. This data helps analyse women’s economic empowerment and understand gender gaps in other key areas of development.
