Note: The Special Focus section of the community portal is here to highlight a gender issue that has been reported often in the media. It does NOT necessarily reflect the opinions of Wikigender or Wikigender partner organisations

The World Economic Forum (WEF) gathers world business and political leaders in Davos, Switzerland for its annual meeting and this year, for the first time sponsors are required to send at least one woman in their five-person delegations. This provoking move at the highest level has brought attention to the debate on quotas and their necessity to foster progress in women’s representation in public and private decision-making institutions. This Community Portal's special focus therefore highlights the debate sparked by the media on this new Davos requirement and will also cover other articles related to women’s leadership.
