About the workshop

The workshop, targeting 25 to 30 women from different recognized political parties, is held on April 29th and 30th, 2011 in Hotel “Les Ambassadeurs”, Tunis. The political change brought in Tunisia since January 14, 2011, was largely achieved through the use of new information and communication technologies, to the point that it was described as an e-revolution. Besides, the new socio-political reality is marked by the proliferation of political parties embracing different ideologies. For theses reasons, the UN-WOMEN and CAWTAR project considered fundamental to organize this training session targeting women active in political parties. The workshop is articulated around two basic axes: effective use of ICT and especially social media, in women’s political activities (political campaigns, advocacy, etc..) and the use of concrete tools for promoting gender equality within their political party.
